References and grades will be added progressively and can be found under the relevant syllabus and grade.
The general reference works listed on pages xii and xiii of the Manual of Syllabuses should be consulted as a matter of course when first approaching the set works. Candidates are encouraged to use the references listed below as a starting point for their own further research.

A Guide to BWV Numbers
Candidates and teachers may find the following guide to the Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis (Bach works catalogue) numbers for the preludes and fugues of Das wohltemperirte Clavier (‘The well-tempered Clavier’). The BWV system is the standard scholarly catalogue for the numbering of Bach’s works.

Cello Syllabus Error Notification
It has come to our attention that there are areas of the new cello syllabus either in error or in which further information could be supplied that would make identifying particularly source publications easier. All of these will be added into the syllabus when it is reprinted in the Manual for 2011.
